BlackBerry maker warns on security vulnerability
Research in Motion Ltd makers of the Blackberry issued a security patch for the popular smart phone, warning of its vulnerability to attacks by hackers. Without the security patch users risk hackers exploiting the vulnerability, although their have been no confirmed reports of it happening yet. The newly disclosed vulnerability could allow hackers to take control of servers running BlackBerry systems by sending emails with tainted attachments in Adobe Systems Inc's PDF format, according to computer security researchers. If the device's user opens one of those attachments, it would seek to install malicious software on the server at the data center that runs a company's BlackBerry network. Hackers could then covertly use that server to send spam or steal corporate data. Research in Motion along with many other technology companies have been in a consistent battle with hackers in order to stay one step ahead in identifying problems and vulnerabilities to the device.

FBI: Airline worker helped roommate get gun on jet
U.S Airways customer service agent Roshid Millege was charged by the FBI for allegedly helping his roommate get a semiautomatic handgun onto a plan departing from Philadelphia. Milledge helped his roommate Damien Young; conceal the weapon by switching him a carry-on bag at the front gate. Milledge then agreed to carry the concealed weapon through an employee entrance where it would not be screened by security. A fellow passenger saw the two men switch bags and immediately raised concerns after he saw Milledge acting “fidgety.” Young, who was already on the plane denied switching bags with anyone to US Airways management. Eventually the plane was called back to the gate and Young was removed from the plane and confessed the switch to the FBI. If the program is successful it will be implemented in all U.S airports by the end of 2010.

News of the Weird
When retired NYPD officer John Comparetto was approached at gunpoint in a men's room of a Holiday Inn near Harrisburg, Pa., in March, he quietly handed over his wallet, but when the robber left, Comparetto pulled his own gun and gave chase. He also summoned some of the other 300 narcotics officers attending a convention in the hotel and quickly captured the man, who, said Comparetto, is "probably the dumbest criminal in Pennsylvania." The History of Father’s Day:
A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd, of Spokane, Washington thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. Dodd was raised by her father, William Jackson Smart, after her mother died. She wanted her father to know how special he was to her. Dodd’s father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.
In 1926, a National Father's Day Committee was formed in New York City. Father's Day was recognized by a Joint Resolution of Congress in 1956. In 1972, President Richard Nixon established a permanent national observance of Father's Day to be held on the third Sunday of June.
